Task:
Demographic change is becoming increasingly noticeable: society is aging, and the balance between generations is shifting. There is a lack of contact and understanding of each other's perspectives. Fear of rejection often hinders dialogue between young and old. This makes it all the more important to create opportunities that encourage exchange and strengthen cohesion.
Idea:
In our team bachelor's thesis, we wanted to bridge the gap between generations with a simple and accessible idea. Coffee and cake brings exactly the friendly closeness our society needs today by uniting people of all generations around the coffee table. The cake plate symbolizes a meeting ritual.
Solution:
Our specially designed "chat plate" serves as a signal of willingness to talk: Ordering cake on this plate demonstrates interest in communication. This overcomes any doubts about the other person's openness. Friendly questions on matching napkins help get a conversation started. The chatterbox connects and creates understanding and closeness in a society that longs for exactly that.
